No. 983 is an electrically-heated 550°F(~287.78°C) bench oven from Grieve, currently used for curing medical instruments. 3KW are installed in Incoloy sheathed tubular heating elements. Workspace dimensions are 26” wide x 22” deep x 16” high.
The oven has 3” insulated walls, a Type 304, 2B finish stainless steel interior and a #4 brushed finish stainless steel exterior. Two 13” x 4” access slots are equipped with insulated covers on the rear wall of the oven. An 8” x 10” double-pane Pyrex window is used for viewing the oven chamber. An interior oven light is also provided.
Controls onboard No. 983 include recording and programming temperature controllers and a recirculating blower for this oven.

The unit has 4” insulated walls and a Type 430 stainless steel interior. A 1000 CFM, 1-HP recirculating blower provides horizontal airflow to the workload. Stainless steel pans are held by three tiers of seventeen shelf supports on a 3” vertical center.

Continue readingNo. 961 is an electrically-heated 350°F(~176.67°C) vertical conveyor oven from Grieve, currently used for preheating baskets of steel parts. 30 KW are installed in Incoloy sheathed tubular heating elements. Workspace dimensions are 30” wide x 62” deep x 118” high.
The unit has 4” insulated walls and an aluminized steel interior and exterior. It is also equipped with a removable top-mounted heat chamber (shown on floor in photo) and a motor-operated vertical lift door.
A 4200 CFM, 3-HP recirculating blower provides vertical upward airflow to the workload. Ten 200 lb. capacity carriers with roller surfaces, 31” wide x 14” long, are supported on each side by a heavy-duty roller chain. The carriers are driven through the conveyor by a 3/4-HP drive motor controlled by a variable frequency drive. Fifteen loading baskets are included with the oven. A loading table with rollers lines up with the rollers on the carriers and a latch holds the baskets in place on the carrier.
Controls onboard No. 961 include a digital temperature controller, recirculating blower airflow safety switch, 10” diameter circular chart recorder and a manual reset excess temperature controller with separate contactors.

No. 898 is an electrically-heated 650°F(~343.3°C) universal oven from Grieve, currently used for heat depyrogenation. 12 KW are installed in Incoloy sheathed tubular heating elements. Workspace dimensions are 36” wide x 36” deep x 36” high. The unit has 6” insulated walls and a type 304, 2B finish stainless steel interior and an aluminized steel exterior.
A 600 CFM, 1/2-HP recirculating blower provides universal airflow to the oven. The oven is also equipped with positive latching door hardware, a solenoid operated door lock and an integral leg stand. Safety equipment is included for handling flammable solvents and the floor of the oven contains an explosion venting panel.
Controls onboard No. 898 include a digital indicating temperature controller, motor control push buttons and an on-off heat switch.

Continue readingNo. 862 is a gas-heated 2000°F(~1093.3°C) furnace from Grieve, currently used for preheating molds. 750,000 BTU/HR are installed in four modulating natural gas burners with a floor- mounted combustion air blower. Workspace dimensions are 36” wide x 48” deep x 36” high.
The unit has 7” thick insulated walls, comprising 5” of 2300°F ceramic fiber and 2” of block insulation. The 7” floor insulation contains 4 1/2” of 2300°F firebrick and 2-1/2” of block insulation.
Controls onboard No. 862 include an automatic door switch to drive burners to low fire when the door is opened and an air-operated vertical lift door. All safety equipment required by the IRI, FM and the National Fire Protection Association Standard 86 for gas-heated furnaces is also included.

No. 967 is an electrically-heated 500°F(~260°C) inert atmosphere oven from Grieve, currently used for various heat treating operations at the customer’s facility. 9 KW are installed in Incoloy sheated tubular heating elements. Workspace dimensions are 24” wide x 24” deep x 24” high. A 400 CFM, 1/3-HP recirculating blower provides horizontal front-to-rear airflow to the workload.
The unit has 4” insulated walls, an aluminized steel exterior and Type 430, 2B finish stainless steel interior. The door is equipped with adjustable positive-latching door hardware and adjustable offset hinges. A 130 CFM blower pulls air through the air jacket on the inner oven for cooling and a solenoid automatically opens the outlet for purging.
On this Grieve inert atmosphere oven, the inner oven walls are sealed directly against a 1/2” thick silicone rubber door seal with an air jacket installed on the inner oven for cooling and a blower shaft seal and outlet with pressure relief also onboard. All the interior seams are welded gas-tight and all wall penetrations are equipped with compression fittings.
Controls onboard No. 967 include a digital programming temperature controller, manual reset excess temperature controller with separate contactors and a recirculating blower airflow safety switch. The critical pressure of the oven chamber is monitored with a pressure regulator, flow meter and pressure gauge.

The unit has 4” insulated walls and an aluminized stainless steel interior and exterior. A 3300 CFM, 2-HP recirculating blower provides horizontal airflow to the oven. Safety equipment, such as a 325 CFM 1/3 powered force exhauster, is included as required by the IRI, FM and the National Fire Protection Association Standard 86 for gas-fired equipment. The oven also features a 2” insulated floor with truck wheel guide tracks and a removable top-mounted heat chamber.

No. 922 is an electrically-heated 500°F(~260°C) cleanroom cabinet oven from Grieve, currently used for drying precision parts in baskets at the customer’s facility. 30KW are installed in Incoloy sheathed tubular heating elements to heat the load. Workspace dimensions are 36”wide x 36” deep x 51” high.
The unit has 4” insulated walls, aluminized steel exterior, type 304, 2B finish stainless steel interior with continuously backwelded seams, while the exterior is finished in white epoxy paint with a #4 brushed finish stainless steel door cover and control panel face. The oven is also equipped with double doors and positive latching door hardware.
A 1500 CFM, 2-HP recirculating blower provides horizontal airflow to the oven and two 30” x 24” x 6” thick stainless steel high temperature HEPA recirculating filters further purify the air. The ductwork is easily removable to expose filters for inspection or replacement.

This Grieve bench oven features 2” insulated walls, leg support stand, Type 304, 2B finish stainless steel interior and exterior of brushed #4 stainless steel. Two oven shelves are also included.
Since flammable solvents are handled in No. 991, a powered forced exhauster with powered forced airflow safety switch to shut down heat if there is an exhauster failure, as well as a purge timer to allow the oven to exhaust four volumes of fresh air prior to turning on the heat source are all onboard.
