No. 969 is an electrically-heated 200ºC (~392ºF) laboratory oven from Grieve, currently used for preheating 15 lb. molds at the customer’s facility. Workspace dimensions of this oven measure 12”W x 10”D x 10”H. 800W are installed in Incoloy-sheathed tubular elements to heat the unit, while gravity convection provides the airflow to the load.
This specially modified Grieve lab oven features 1” insulated walls throughout, aluminized steel interior, stainless steel exterior with #4 brushed finish, heavy duty door latch, reinforced door hinge, shelf supports bolted through the oven walls to support the load at a double shelf height and an adjustable fresh air inlet damper at the oven bottom to control the amount of fresh air entering the chamber.
An added feature for accuracy, the temperature control shaft onboard No. 969 is recessed and slotted to avoid a set point change.

No. 863 is an electrically-heated 1400°F(~760°C) box furnace from Grieve, currently used for preheating molds. 52 KW are installed in nickel chrome wire coils supported by a stainless steel frame. A
heat resisting alloy recirculating blower is powered by a 7½ HP motor with a V-belt drive. The blower provides upward airflow to the oven. Workspace dimensions are 30” wide x 48” deep x 30” high.
The unit has 7” thick insulated walls with stainless steel covers. The oven was specially built with inert atmosphere construction. This consists of a continuously welded outer shell, high temperature door gasket, sealed heater terminal boxes, inert atmosphere inlet and inert atmosphere outlet.
Controls onboard No. 863 include a motor-operated vertical lift door and a 4-point strip chart recorder.

No. 862 is a gas-heated 2000°F(~1093.3°C) furnace from Grieve, currently used for preheating molds. 750,000 BTU/HR are installed in four modulating natural gas burners with a floor- mounted combustion air blower. Workspace dimensions are 36” wide x 48” deep x 36” high.
The unit has 7” thick insulated walls, comprising 5” of 2300°F ceramic fiber and 2” of block insulation. The 7” floor insulation contains 4 1/2” of 2300°F firebrick and 2-1/2” of block insulation.
Controls onboard No. 862 include an automatic door switch to drive burners to low fire when the door is opened and an air-operated vertical lift door. All safety equipment required by the IRI, FM and the National Fire Protection Association Standard 86 for gas-heated furnaces is also included.

No. 1015 is an electrically-heated 500°F(~260°C) combination airflow walk-in oven from Grieve, currently used for preheating molds to be filled with metal alloy at the customer’s facility. 40 KW are installed in Incoloy sheated tubular heating elements. Workspace dimensions are 48” wide x 48” deep x 120” high. A 3,300 CFM, 2-HP recirculating blower provides combination airflow to the oven.
The unit has a 2” insulated floor with truck wheel guide tracks, an aluminized steel interior and exterior and an interior oven light. The roof has a 4” square access port and a 8” x 10” double pane Pyrex window that is adjacent to the access port.
Controls onboard No. 1015 include a digital indicating temperature controller, an adjustable, thermocouple actuated, manual reset excess temperature controller and 30-hour shut down timer.

No. 924 is an electrically-heated, two-zone 3500F belt conveyor oven from Grieve, currently used for preheating molds. Workspace dimensions measure 24” W x 5’ D in Zone One and 24” W x 20’ D in Zone Two, with 15” H throughout. 80 KW are installed (20 KW in Zone One, 60 KW in Zone Two) in Incoloy-sheathed tubular elements to provide heat.
Parts pass through a 1’ open belt loading zone, a 5’ insulated heat zone with recirculated airflow, a 20’ insulated heat zone with recirculated airflow, and a 1’ open belt unloading zone. A 2300 CFM, 2-HP recirculating blower in Zone One and 6000 CFM, 5-HP recirculating blower in Zone Two provide vertical downward airflow to the load.
This Grieve belt conveyor oven features 4” thick insulated walls, an aluminized steel interior and exterior, plus an 18”wide, 1” x 1” heavy-duty flat wire conveyor belt with 1/2-HP motor drive, variable from 1.4 to 27.8 inches per minute. The unit was constructed to split into two sections for shipment to the customer’s location..
Control and safety devices on No. 924 include digital indicating temperature controllers, manual reset excess temperature controllers with separate contactors, recirculating blower airflow safety switches and a two-pen, 10” diameter circular chart recorder. Side access doors are provided throughout this Grieve belt conveyor oven (shown in photo) for load inspection and maintenance.
