550°F Belt Conveyor Oven from Grieve

 

No 866 Grieve Belt Conveyor OvenNo. 866 is a 550° (288°C) belt conveyor oven from Grieve, currently used for heat treating coiled spring steel at the customer’s facility. Workspace dimensions of this oven measure 18” W x 20’ D x 15” H. 60 KW are installed in Nichrome wire heating elements to heat the oven, while a 4200 CFM, 3 HP recirculating blower provides vertical downward airflow to the workload.

The oven travel comprises an 1-1/2’ long open belt loading zone, 20’ long insulated heat zone with recirculated airflow, 1’ long open zone, plus a 12’ long cooling zone and an 1-1/2’ long open unloading zone.

This Grieve belt conveyor oven features 4” insulated walls, aluminized steel exterior and stainless steel interior. Two 12” diameter tubeaxial fans, each driven by a ½ HP motor, push/pull air through cooling zone and a 12” wide, ½” x ½” high carbon steel flat wire conveyor belt with 1/3 HP motor drive, variable from 16 to 44 inches per minute, are also onboard the oven.

Controls on the No. 866 include a 10” diameter circular chart recording temperature controller and a manual reset excess temperature controller.

867 for Heat Treating Metal Springs | #GrieveCorpNo. 867 is an 850ºF (454ºC), gas-heated belt conveyor oven from Grieve, currently used for production heat treating of metal springs at the customer’s facility. Workspace dimensions of this oven measure 36” W x 18’ D x 15” H. 800,000 BTU/HR are installed in a natural gas burner to heat the oven chamber, while a 12,500 CFM, 10-HP stainless steel recirculating blower provides vertical downward airflow to the workload.

The oven travel comprises a 3’ long open belt loading zone, 18’ long insulated heat zone with recirculated airflow, 3’ long open belt unloading zone and a 30” wide, Type 304 stainless steel woven wire conveyor belt with 3” high flex plate edges, driven by a ½-HP motor v-belt drive, variable from 1-19 IPM.

This Grieve belt conveyor oven features 7” thick insulated walls, aluminized steel exterior and interior, exhaust hoods over each end equipped with a 12” diameter tubeaxial fan, driven by a ½-HP motor, plus all safety equipment required by IRI, FM and NFPA Standard 86 for gas-heated equipment, including a 650 CFM, ½-HP powered forced exhauster.

Controls on No. 867 include a digital indicating temperature controller and 10” diameter circular chart recorder.

792 for curing mold release onto steel moldsNo. 792 is a gas-fired, 750ºF belt conveyor oven, currently used for curing mold release onto steel molds.  Workspace dimensions measure 42” W x 12’ D x 12” H.  800,000 BTU/HR are installed in a modulating natural gas burner to heat the unit, while a 7800 CFM recirculating blower provides vertical downward airflow to the workload.  The oven travel comprises a 4’ long open belt loading zone, 1’ long insulated but unheated vestibule entrance, 12’ long insulated heat zone with recirculated airflow, 1’ long open zone, 2’ long cooling zone and 2’ long open unloading zone.

350°F Belt Conveyor Oven

864rtNo. 864 is a 350ºF, natural gas-heated belt conveyor oven from Grieve, currently used for drying gold ore samples at the customer’s facility.  Workspace dimensions of this oven measure 6-1/2’ W x 35’ D x 1-1/2’ H.   1,650,000 BTU are installed in a modulating natural gas burner to heat the oven chamber, while a 24,500 CFM, 20 HP recirculating blower provides vertical downward airflow to the workload.

This Grieve oven features a 5’ long open belt loading zone, 35’ long insulated heat zone with recirculated airflow and 1’ long open belt unloading zone, plus 4” insulated walls, aluminized steel interior and exterior.   A 6’ wide, 1” x 1” galvanized steel, flat wire conveyor belt with ¼ HP motor drive, variable from 5 to 50 feet per hour, transports the workload.  Side access doors are provided along the length of the workspace to inspect the load and service the heating chamber.

All safety equipment required by IRI, FM and NFPA Standard 86 for gas-heated equipment are provided on this belt conveyor oven, including a 1500 CFM, 2 HP powered forced exhauster.

Controls on No. 864 include a conveyor belt start/stop, digital indicating current proportioning temperature controller, manual reset excess temperature controller, variable SCR drive to control conveyor belt speed, pilot lights to indicate when blower and heat are energized, pushbutton electronic ignition, on-off heat switch and main oven control pushbuttons.   The NEMA 12 control panel is equipped with a lockable fused disconnect switch.

High-Temp Belt Conveyor Oven for Drying Steel Nesh

No. 1021 is a 1250ºF high-temperature belt conveyor oven from Grieve, currently used for drying steel nesh (sieve) materials at the customer’s facility.  Workspace dimensions of this oven measure 21” W x 38” D x 3” H.   40 KW are installed in Incoloy-sheathed tubular elements to heat the oven chamber, while a 1600 CFM, 1-1/2 HP recirculating blower provides vertical downward airflow to the workload.

This Grieve packaged conveyor oven features 10” thick insulated walls made from 8” of 1900ºF block and 2” of 10 lb/cf density rockwool insulation, aluminized steel exterior, Type 304, 2B finish stainless steel interior and an 18” wide, 1” x 1” stainless steel flat wire conveyor belt with 1/3 HP motor drive, variable from 0.05 to 1.20 feet per minute.  The oven travel comprises a 30” long open belt loading zone, 38” long insulated heat zone with recirculated airflow and 30” long open unloading zone.   10” x 10” stainless steel mesh screens above the return ductwork below the conveyor are provided to collect debris from the workload.

Controls onboard No. 1021 include a digital indicating temperature controller, SCR power controller and wall mounted remote control panel (shown detached in photo).

500ºF Gas-fired Belt Conveyor Oven for Heating and Curing Battery Cans

No. 838 is a 500oF gas-fired belt conveyor oven from Grieve, currently used for heating and curing battery cans at a customer’s facility.

838 Grieve

Workspace dimensions of this oven measure 30” wide x 25’ deep by 18” high, with 4’ long open belt loading and unloading zones at each end.  A 10,000 CFM, 7 ½-HP recirculating blower provides vertical downward airflow to the load, while a 350,000 BTU/HR modulating natural gas burner provides heat to the workspace.

No. 838 features a 24” wide, B-42-24-16 balanced weave conveyor belt with roller chain edge drive, powered by a 1/3-HP motor drive with variable speeds from 5-100 ipm.

This Grieve conveyor oven has an aluminized steel interior and exterior, with 4” insulated walls throughout.  Side doors allow access to the entire workspace.

All safety and control equipment required by IRI, FM and NFPA Standard 86 for gas-heated equipment is on-board this unit, including a 325 CFM, 1/3-HP powered forced exhauster.

Grieve 500°F Electric Three-Zone Belt Conveyor Oven

No. 1018 is an electrically-heated, 500º F (~260ºC) three-zone belt conveyor oven from Grieve, currently used for drying ceramic parts. Workspace dimensions are 18” wide x 40’ deep x 18” high. 180 KW (60 KW per zone) are installed in Incoloy-sheathed tubular heating elements, while three 3-HP recirculating blowers (total 12,600 CFM) provide vertical downward airflow to the workload. The oven was split into three sections for shipment.

The unit contains a 12” wide, 1/2” stainless steel flat wire conveyor belt with 1/3-HP motor drive, variable from 2 to 30 inches per minute and has a 30” long open belt loading zone and a 60” long open unloading zone.

This Grieve conveyor oven features 4” insulated walls, aluminized steel exterior and Type 304, 2B finish stainless steel interior, three independent doors for access to the workspace, three 325 CFM powered forced exhausters and the unit was built to NEMA 12 electrical standards.  It has disposable fresh air filters in each zone, including photohelic pressure gauges with alarms.

Controls onboard No. 1018 include SCR power controllers and independent recirculated airflow and temperature controls for each of three 162” insulated heat zones.

400ºF Electric Belt Conveyor Oven from Grieve

Grieve Corporation introduces No. 827, a 400°F electric belt conveyor oven, currently in use for preheating automotive fabric panels at a customer’s facility.

Workloads travel atop a  30” wide, mesh Teflon-coated fiberglass conveyor belt with 1/4 HP motor drive, variable speed from 0.5 to 10 feet  per minute, through a 78” long open belt loading zone, 120” long insulated heat zone with recirculated airflow, and a 39” long open unloading zone.

40 kW  power is installed in Incoloy sheathed tubular heating elements, while a 4200 CFM, 3 HP recirculating blower provides vertical upward and downward airflow to the workload. This oven is equipped with exhaust hoods over each end of the workspace, to exhaust heat and fumes escaping the open ends of the heat zone.

No. 827 features a conveyor belt tracking system, consisting of photoelectric eyes to sense belt position and shift pneumatically-operated steering rollers.

This Grieve oven has an aluminized steel interior and exterior, 4” thick insulated walls, plus all the safety equipment required for handling flammable solvents.

This conveyor oven was entirely designed, engineered, built and fully tested by Grieve.

992 GrieveNo. 992 is an electrically-heated, 500ºF (~260ºC) two-zone belt conveyor oven from Grieve, currently used for drying and curing ceramic cement at the customer’s facility.  48 KW (24 KW per zone) are installed in Nichrome wire elements to heat the oven chamber, while 4000 CFM (2000 CFM in each zone) are provided by two 2-HP recirculating blowers with vertical downward airflow to the workload.

Each of the two work zones in this belt conveyor oven consists of a 2’ long insulated, unheated entrance vestibule; 4’ long insulated heat zone with recirculating airflow; 2’ long insulated, unheated exit vestibule; 1’ long open zone; 5’ long cooling zone and 1’ long open belt loading and unloading zone.

The conveyor belt on No. 992 is 30” wide, 1” x 1” high carbon steel flat wire, powered by a 1/3-HP motor drive, variable from 0.5 to 10 ipm.  Also onboard this oven are two 16” diameter tubeaxial fans, each driven by a 3/4-HP motor to push/pull air through the cooling zones.

The Grieve conveyor oven further features 4” insulated walls, aluminized steel interior and exterior, plus two doors for access to the workspace and heating chambers.

Controls on No. 992, provided in one cabinet for each of the two heating zones (as shown in photo), include a digital indicating temperature controller, manual reset excess temperature controller with separate contactors and a recirculating blower airflow safety switch.

956 GrieveNo. 956 is a gas-fired, 800ºF (~427ºC) belt conveyor oven from Grieve, currently used for preheating steel parts at the customer’s facility.  Workspace dimensions measure 30”W x 108”D x 39”H.  400,000 BTU/HR are installed in a modulating natural gas burner to heat the unit, while a 4200 CFM, 3-HP recirculating blower provides vertical downward airflow across the load.

The workload travels through a 24” long open belt loading zone, 108” long insulated heat zone with recirculated airflow and a 24” long open belt unloading zone.  In process, the load rides on a 24” wide, 1” x 1” stainless steel conveyor belt with ¼-HP motor drive to index the belt through the oven heat chamber.

This Grieve belt conveyor oven features 6” insulated walls throughout, aluminized steel interior and exterior, motor-operated vertical lift doors at each end of the heat chamber, plus all safety equipment required by IRI, FM and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 86 for gas-heated equipment, including a 325 CFM, 1/3-HP powered forced exhauster.

No. 956 also features a digital indicating temperature controller onboard.
