No. 954 is an electrically-heated 2000°F(~1093°C) inert atmosphere heavy-duty box furnace from Grieve, currently used for heat treating titanium at the customer’s facility. 57 KW are installed in nickel chrome wire coils, supported by vacuum-formed ceramic fiber, to heat the load. Workspace dimensions are 30” wide x 48” deep x 30” high. The oven’s 7” thick insulated walls comprise 5” of 2300°F ceramic fiber and 2” of 1700°F ceramic fiber, while the 6-1/2” floor insulation comprises 4-1/2” of 2300°F firebrick and 2” of 1200°F block insulation.
The unit is equipped with a roof-mounted heat-resisting alloy recirculating fan, powered by a 1-HP motor with V-belt drive, motor-operated vertical lift door, 100 lb. capacity alloy loading cart with cast alloy roller rails, 3-1/2” diameter cast alloy rollers and a roller rail loading table with 4” diameter cast iron rollers.
This Grieve furnace also features inert atmosphere construction, consisting of a continuously welded outer shell, high temperature door gasket, sealed heater terminal boxes, inert atmosphere inlet, inert atmosphere outlet and inert atmosphere flowmeter.
Controls onboard No. 954 include a digital programming temperature controller, manual reset excess temperature controller with separate contactors, plus a strip chart recorder.

Workspace dimensions are 30” wide x 48” deep x 30” high.
The unit has 7” insulated walls comprised of 5” of 2300°F ceramic fiber and 2” of 1700°F block insulation. The 6½” floor insulation is made of 4½” of 2300°F firebrick and 2” of 1900°F block insulation. The plate hearth is made of firebrick and is supported by firebrick piers.

No. 863 is an electrically-heated 1400°F(~760°C) box furnace from Grieve, currently used for preheating molds. 52 KW are installed in nickel chrome wire coils supported by a stainless steel frame. A heat resisting alloy recirculating blower is powered by a 7½ HP motor with a V-belt drive. The blower provides upward airflow to the oven. Workspace dimensions are 30” wide x 48” deep x 30” high.
The unit has 7” thick insulated walls with stainless steel covers. The oven was specially built with inert atmosphere construction. This consists of a continuously welded outer shell, high temperature door gasket, sealed heater terminal boxes, inert atmosphere inlet and inert atmosphere outlet.
Controls onboard No. 863 include a motor-operated vertical lift door and a 4-point strip chart recorder.

No. 939 is a 2000°F gas-heated box furnace from Grieve, currently used for preheating metals prior to forging. Workspace dimensions measure 72”Wx36”Dx48”H. 700,000 BTU, installed in two modulating natural gas burners with a floor-mounted combustion air blower, heat the unit.
This Grieve furnace features 7” insulated walls made with 5” of 2300°F ceramic fiber and 2” of 1700°F ceramic fiber. The 7” floor comprises 4-1/2” of 2300°F firebrick and 2-1/2” of 1900°F block insulation. A firebrick plate hearth is supported by firebrick piers. The unit has a manually-operated vertical lift door.
No. 939 also includes a digital indicating temperature controller, manual reset excess temperature controller with separate contactors and a fused disconnect switch.

No. 908 is a natural gas-heated, heavy-duty box furnace from Grieve, currently used at a commercial heat treater for various applications. Maximum operating temperature is 2000°F and the workspace dimensions measure 48” W x 48” D x 48” H. 1,000,000 BTU/HR are installed in four (4) modulating natural gas burners with a floor-mounted combustion air blower (shown in photo) onboard.
This Grieve furnace features 7” thick walls, comprising 5” of 2300°F firebrick and 2” of 1700°F ceramic fiber insulation, plus a 7” thick floor made from 4-1/2” of 2300°F firebrick and 2-1/2” of 1900°F block insulation. Additionally, a firebrick plate hearth supported by firebrick piers is provided.
No. 908 also includes an air-operated vertical lift door and an automatic door switch to drive the burners to a low fire, whenever the door is opened.
This box furnace has a 3/16” thick steel plate reinforced shell, 1/2” thick steel front plate, brushed stainless steel control panel face and a firebrick doorsill to protect the furnace during loading.
All safety equipment required by IRI, FM and NFPA Standard 86 for gas-heated equipment is included. No. 908 also features a digital indicating temperature controller and a manual reset excess temperature controller with separate contactors.
