750ºF Cabinet Oven from Grieve

997rtNo. 997 is a 750ºF electrically-heated cabinet oven from Grieve, currently used for heating Teflon billets at the customer’s facility.  Workspace dimensions on this oven measure 72” W x 72”D x 72”H.   100KW are installed in Incoloy-sheathed tubular elements to heat the oven chamber, while a 10,000 CFM, 7-1/2 HP recirculating blower provides vertical upward airflow to the workload.

This Grieve cabinet oven features 6” insulated walls, subway grating shelf at the bottom of the oven workspace rated for 2500 lb. loading and four (4) pairs of shelf supports rated at 200 lbs. per shelf.

Controls on No. 997 include a digital programming temperature controller, manual reset excess temperature controller with separate contactors, recirculating blower airflow safety switch and 10” diameter circular chart recorder.

500ºF Rotary Hearth Oven from Grieve

No. 816 is a 500ºF gas-fired, rotary hearth oven from Grieve, currently used for preheating and curing powder coatings onto electric motor parts.  Workspace dimensions on this oven measure 54” W x 54”D x 72”H.   350,000 BTU/HR are installed in a modulating gas burner, while a 4200 CFM, 3 HP recirculating blower provides horizontal airflow to the workload.

This Grieve rotary hearth oven features aluminized steel interior and exterior with 4” insulated walls.  Two 48” diameter hearths, constructed from rolled angles and covered with perforated metal, carry the loads in process.  Each hearth is designed to rotate for 15 seconds, every time the motor-operated vertical lift door is opened and closed.  The hearths are driven by a 1/3 HP motor through a gear reducer with torque limiting device.

All safety equipment required by IRI, FM and National Fire Protection Association Standard 86 for gas-fired equipment are onboard No. 816, including a 325 CFM, 1/3 HP powered forced exhauster.

Large-capacity 500ºF Electric Walk-in Oven

No. 857 is an electrically-heated 500°F (~260°C) walk-in oven from Grieve, currently used for annealing plastics at the customer’s facility. Workspace dimensions are 7’ wide x 12’ deep x 7’ high.  100 KW are installed in Incoloy-sheathed tubular heating elements to heat the oven chamber, while a 17,500 CFM, 15 HP recirculating blower provides horizontal airflow to the workload.

The oven has 4” thick insulated walls, plus an aluminized steel interior and exterior.  The door sill on this unit was eliminated and both oven doors are equipped with drag seals.  Wear bars were also installed on the sides of the workspace for added durability.

Controls onboard No. 857 include a 975 CFM powered forced exhauster and motorized dampers on the intake and exhaust for accelerated cooling of the oven chamber.

500ºF Gas-fired Walk-in Oven

940rtNo. 940 is a gas-fired 500°F (~260°C) walk-in oven from Grieve, currently used for curing brake friction materials at the customer’s facility. Workspace dimensions are 72” wide x 96” deep x 78” high.  400,000 BTU/HR are installed in a modulating natural gas burner inside the oven, while 700,000 BTU/HR are installed in a modulating natural gas afterburner.  The oven’s initial exhaust passes through the 1400ºF afterburner.   A 6000 CFM, 5-HP recirculating blower provides combination airflow to the workload.

The oven has 4” thick insulated walls, aluminized steel interior and exterior, plus a top-mounted heating chamber.  All safety equipment required by IRI, FM and NFPA Standard 96 for gas-heated equipment is onboard, including a 650 CFM, ½-HP powered forced exhauster.

Controls on No. 872 include digital indicating temperature controllers and a 10” diameter circular chart recorder.

1000°F Inert Atmosphere Oven

No. 872 is an electrically-heated 1000°F (~532°C) inert atmosphere oven from Grieve, currently used for annealing copper foil parts. 36 KW are installed in Incoloy sheathed tubular heating elements. Workspace dimensions are 36” wide x 48” deep x 36” high.   A 2000 CFM, 2 HP recirculating blower provides universal airflow to the workload.

The oven has 8” thick insulated walls comprised of 2” of 1900°F block and 6” of 10 lb/cf density rockwool, plus an aluminized steel exterior and interior.  A structural steel base is provided to raise the roller rails to a 20” loading height.  These roller rails, mounted on the bottom of the oven workspace, are rated for 2000 lb. loads.

No. 872 features Grieve inert atmosphere oven construction, which includes a pressure regulator, flow meter, pressure gauge, internal high-temperature gasket, all welded construction in the doorway throat, air jacket on inner oven for cooling, ½” thick cellular silicone rubber atmosphere seal, blower shaft seal, positive latching door hardware, adjustable offset door hinges, outlet with pressure relief, interior seams welded gas-tight and all wall penetrations fitted with compression fittings.

A 975 CFM blower with automatic dampers pulls air through the air jacket on the inner oven for cooling, while the oven’s quick-purge system includes a 1200 SCFH flow meter and solenoid to open the outlet.

350°F Floor Level Cabinet Oven

No. 900 is a gas-heated 350°F(~176.67°C) floor level cabinet oven from Grieve, currently used for drying polycarbonate plastics. 100,000 BTU/HR is installed in a modulating natural gas burner and workspace dimensions are 36” wide x 36” deep x 60” high.

The oven has 4” insulated walls and a 750 CFM, 3/4-HP recirculating blower provides vertical airflow to the oven. Safety equipment, such as a 325 CFM, 1/3-HP powered force exhauster, is included as required by IRI, FM and the National Fire Protection Association Standard 86 for gas-heated equipment. The oven also features shelf supports on 3” vertical centers that are rated 200 lb. per level for a 1000 lb. maximum oven load.

Controls onboard No. 900 include a recirculating blower airflow safety switch, digital indicating temperature controller and a manual reset excess temperature controller with separate contactors.

650°F Indexing Chain Conveyor Oven

grieve874rtNo. 874 is an electrically-heated 650°F(~343.3°C) indexing chain conveyor oven from Grieve, currently used for processing pallets of PVC parts on mandrels. 40 KW are installed in Incoloy sheathed tubular heating elements. Workspace dimensions are 42” wide x 84” deep x 15” high.

The oven has 5” insulated walls and an aluminized steel interior and exterior. It features three zones: 2’ long open belt loading zone, 7’ long insulated heat zone with recirculated airflow and 4’ long open unloading zone. The mandrels holding product move through the oven on two strands of 60 pitch roller chain on 35” centers, powered by a ¼ HP motor drive with fixed speed of 32 inches per minute.

A 4200 CFM, 3-HP recirculating blower provides vertical downward airflow to the workload, while a 325 CFM powered forced exhauster is also onboard. Motor operated vertical lift doors are provided at each end of the oven.

Controls onboard No. 874 include SCR power controller and fused disconnect switch. A PLC controls temperature and conveyor indexing.

250°F Belt Conveyor Oven

grieve829No. 829 is an electrically-heated 250°F(~121.11°C) belt conveyor oven from Grieve, currently used for curing epoxy on metal and nylon filter assemblies. 40 K are installed in Incoloy sheathed tubular heating elements. Workspace dimensions are 30” wide x 10’ deep x 15” high.

The oven has 4” insulated walls and an aluminized steel interior and exterior. A 4200 CFM, 3-HP recirculating blower provides vertical upward and downward airflow to the unit. The oven has three zones: a 2’ long open belt loading zone, 10’ long insulated heat zone with recirculated airflow and a 2’ long open unloading zone. The product is moved through the oven on a 24” wide, 1” x 1” Type 304 stainless steel flatwire conveyor belt with a 1/4 HP motor drive, with variable speed from 0.3 to 6 feet per minute.

Controls onboard No. 829 include a digital indicating temperature controller, manual reset excess temperature controller with separate contactors, SCR power controller, fused disconnect switch and a recirculating blower airflow safety switch.

650° Gas-fired Walk-in Oven

No. 948 is an indirect gas-heated 650°F(~343.3°C) walk-in oven from Grieve, currently used for evaporating water from plastic. 500,000 BTU/HR are installed in a modulating natural gas burner that fires into an alloy radiant tube. Workspace dimensions are 60” wide x 72” deep x 72” high.

The oven has a top-mounted heat chamber, Type 304, 2B finish stainless steel interior and an aluminized steel exterior, with 5” thick insulated walls. The insulated floor is lined with truck wheel guide tracks. A 6000 CFM, 5-HP recirculating blower provides horizontal airflow to the workload. The oven is equipped with a 1500 CFM stainless steel powered forced exhauster with motorized dampers on the intake and exhaust for accelerated cooling.  For protection, safety equipment is included as required by IRI, FM and National Fire Protection Association Standard 86 for gas-heated equipment.

Grieve 1400ºF Box Furnace

No. 863 is an electrically-heated 1400°F(~760°C) box furnace from Grieve, currently used for preheating molds. 52 KW are installed in nickel chrome wire coils supported by a stainless steel frame. A heat resisting alloy recirculating blower is powered by a 7½ HP motor with a V-belt drive. The blower provides upward airflow to the oven. Workspace dimensions are 30” wide x 48” deep x 30” high.

The unit has 7” thick insulated walls with stainless steel covers. The oven was specially built with inert atmosphere construction. This consists of a continuously welded outer shell, high temperature door gasket, sealed heater terminal boxes, inert atmosphere inlet and inert atmosphere outlet.

Controls onboard No. 863 include a motor-operated vertical lift door and a 4-point strip chart recorder.
