Combination Airflow Jumbo Walk-in Oven for Curing Composite Parts

999t GrieveNo. 999 is an electrically-heated, 350ºF (~176ºC) jumbo combination walk-in oven from Grieve, currently used for curing composite parts at the customer’s facility. Workspace dimensions measure 10’W x 40’D x 8’H. 160KW are installed in Incoloy sheathed tubular elements to heat the unit, while two 20-HP recirculating blowers with total 49,500 CFM capacity provide combination airflow to the load.

This Grieve oven features 4” insulated walls throughout, removable top-mounted heat chamber (shown removed in photo), aluminized steel interior and exterior, front and rear double doors with air-operated opening assist plus an 8” x 10” double pane Pyrex window in each door, 1/4” thick plate floor and four interior oven lights. The unit was split into six sections for installation clearance at the customer’s factory.

No. 999 is equipped with all safety equipment for handling flammable solvents, including explosion venting door hardware, 2600CFM powered forced exhauster and motorized dampers on intake and exhaust for accelerated cooling. The unit is built to NEMA 12 electrical standards.

Controls on this Grieve jumbo combination walk-in oven include a digital programming temperature controller, strip chart recorder, SCR power controller and ten digital countdown timers.

350ºF (177ºC) Gas-fired Jumbo Walk-in Oven

996 GrieveNo. 996 is a gas-fired, 350ºF (177ºC) jumbo walk-in oven, currently used for batch processing large composite structures.  Workspace dimensions measure 10’ W x 32’ D x 8’ H.  1,200,000 BTU/HR are installed in a modulating natural gas burner to heat the unit, while 49,000 CFM total from two (2) 20HP recirculating blowers provide combination airflow to the workloads.

This Grieve jumbo walk-in batch oven features 4” insulated walls throughout, removable top-mounted heat chamber (shown removed in photo), the oven body split into four (4) sections for shipment with mating angle iron frames for easy reassembly in the field, plus aluminized steel interior and exterior.

All safety equipment required by IRI, FM and National Fire Protection Association Standard 86 for gas-heated equipment are onboard No. 996, including an 8000 CFM powered forced exhauster for quick purge and cool down, motorized dampers on the intake and exhaust for accelerated cooling, as well as a 10” diameter circular chart recording and programming temperature controller.

500ºF Electric Walk-in Oven

No. 877 is a 500°F electric walk-in oven from Grieve, currently in use for a variety of heat processing applications at a customer’s facility.  Workspace dimensions of this unit measure 108”W x 144”D x 84”H.

877 Grieve140 kW installed in Incoloy sheathed tubular elements heat the workspace, while a 17,500 CFM, 30-HP recirculating blower provides a combination airflow to the workload.

This jumbo walk-in oven features an aluminized steel interior and exterior, 4” thick insulated walls, exceptionally heavy-duty walls with high-temperature stainless steel spring insert door gaskets, a brushed stainless steel control panel face and rear-mounted heat chamber.

No. 877 also includes a digital programming temperature controller and a manual reset excess temperature controller with separate heating element control contactors.
