Grieve Corporation introduces No. 830, a 1200°F gas-heated belt conveyor oven, currently in use for preheating electric motor rotors at a customer’s location.
Workloads travel atop a 24” wide, 1” x 1” Type 304 stainless steel flatwire conveyor belt with 3/4 HP motor drive, fixed speed of 15 feet per minute, through a 54” long open belt loading zone, 105” long insulated heat zone with recirculated airflow and a 36” long open unloading zone.
800,000 BTU/HR are installed in a modulating gas burner, while a 6000 CFM, 5 HP recirculating blower provides vertical downward airflow to the workload.
No. 830 features 10” thick insulated walls, comprising 2” of 1900°F block and 8” of 10 lb./cu.ft. density rockwool insulation. This conveyor oven has an aluminized steel exterior, Type 304, 2B finish stainless steel interior, motor-operated vertical lift doors at each end of the heat zone and 1/4” plate work surfaces at each end of the oven.
All safety devices required by IRI, FM and NFPA Standard 86 for gas-heated equipment are built into this unit, including electronic flame safeguard protection, powered forced exhauster, exhauster airflow safety switch, purge timer, hi/lo gas pressure switches, manual reset main gas valve and testing device for tight closure of main gas valve.
This conveyor oven was entirely designed, engineered, built and fully tested by Grieve.

No. 1000 is a gas-fired, 500ºF (~260ºC) walk-in oven from Grieve, specially modified for overhead crane loading at the customer’s facility, in the performance of general heat processing operations. Workspace dimensions of this oven measure 81”W x 14’D x 12’H. 600,000 BTU are installed in a modulating natural gas burner to heat the unit, while a 17,500 CFM, 15-HP recirculating blower provides combination horizontal/vertical airflow to the load.
This unique Grieve walk-in oven features 4” insulated walls throughout, aluminized steel interior and exterior, air-operated crane access door atop the oven, plus all safety equipment required by IRI, FM and NFPA Standard 86 for gas-heated equipment, including a 1500 CFM powered forced exhauster.
Controls on No. 1000 include a digital programming temperature controller.

No. 1001 comprises two electrically-heated, 500ºF (~260ºC) universal ovens from Grieve, specially modified for simultaneous operation with reduced movement by one worker at the customer’s facility, in the performance of general heat processing operations. Workspace dimensions in each oven measure 24”W x 24”D x 24”H. 5KW are installed in Nichrome wire elements to heat each unit, while a 400 CFM, 1/3-HP recirculating blower provides front-to-rear universal airflow across the load in each unit.
These Grieve universal ovens each feature 4” insulated walls throughout, aluminized stainless steel interior and exterior, motor-operated vertical lift door with foot pedal actuation and an integral leg stand.
Identical controls on each oven of No. 1001 are housed in a NEMA 12 control panel, mounted on opposite sides of the respective ovens for easy access by one individual positioned between them. The controls on each oven include an automatic door switch to shut off heat and blower motor when the door is opened, as well as a digital indicating temperature controller, manual reset excess temperature controller with separate control contactors, recirculating blower airflow safety switch and 7-day, 24-hour start-up timer.

No. 794 is a three-zone, electrically-heated belt conveyor oven from Grieve, currently in use curing a cast silicone rubber layer onto steel rollers. This unit has a maximum operating temperature of 500°F and a workspace of 30″ W x 96″ D x 24″ H.
The conveyor consists of an 18″ long open belt loading zone, 36″ long insulated unheated entrance vestibule, three 32″ long insulated heat zones with independent recirculated airflow and temperature control, 12″ long insulated unheated exit vestibule and 60″ long open unloading zone.
A 90 KW total heat input is installed in Nichrome wire heating elements, with 30 KW per heating zone. Three 1,000 CFM, 1 HP recirculating blowers provide vertical downward airflow to the workload.
No. 794 features aluminized steel interior and exterior, as well as 4″ thick insulated walls, a three-pen, 10″ dia. circular chart recorder and a 24″ W, 1″ x 1″ flatwire conveyor belt with 1/2 HP motor drive and variable speed from 1.5 to 4.3 inches per minute.
A customer-specified, multi-color paint finish was also supplied by Grieve on this conveyor oven.

This Grieve oven features 4” insulated walls throughout, Type 304, 2B stainless steel interior with continuously backwelded seam construction, stainless steel exterior with #4 brushed finish, heavy-duty door and door frame, three nickel-plated wire shelves and adjustable patented opposed louvers on full coverage supply and return ductwork.

No. 999 is an electrically-heated, 350ºF (~176ºC) jumbo combination walk-in oven from Grieve, currently used for curing composite parts at the customer’s facility. Workspace dimensions measure 10’W x 40’D x 8’H. 160KW are installed in Incoloy sheathed tubular elements to heat the unit, while two 20-HP recirculating blowers with total 49,500 CFM capacity provide combination airflow to the load.
This Grieve oven features 4” insulated walls throughout, removable top-mounted heat chamber (shown removed in photo), aluminized steel interior and exterior, front and rear double doors with air-operated opening assist plus an 8” x 10” double pane Pyrex window in each door, 1/4” thick plate floor and four interior oven lights. The unit was split into six sections for installation clearance at the customer’s factory.
No. 999 is equipped with all safety equipment for handling flammable solvents, including explosion venting door hardware, 2600CFM powered forced exhauster and motorized dampers on intake and exhaust for accelerated cooling. The unit is built to NEMA 12 electrical standards.
Controls on this Grieve jumbo combination walk-in oven include a digital programming temperature controller, strip chart recorder, SCR power controller and ten digital countdown timers.

No. 793 is an electrically-heated belt conveyor oven from Grieve, currently in use drying moisture from tubular heating elements. This unit has a maximum operating temperature of 850°F and workspace dimensions of 24″ W x 12′ D x 15″ H.
The conveyor consists of a 2′ long open belt loading heat zone, 12′ long insulated heat zone with recirculated airflow and a 2′ long open unloading zone.
7″ thick insulated walls are featured throughout this rugged Grieve oven, which has 80 KW total heat input installed in Incoloy sheathed tubular heating elements. A 4,200 CFM, 3 HP reciruclating blower provides vertical downward airflow to the workload.
No. 793 further features an aluminized steel interior and exterior, as well as an 18″ W, 1″ x 1″ flatwire conveyor belt with 1/3 HP motor drive and variable speed from 2.0 to 5.7 inches per minute.
This Grieve oven’s controls and indicators are all mounted in a single enclosure for easy access.
Adjustable dampers at each end of the heat zone can be lowered near the load to minimize heat loss during operation.
