1000ºF Electric Rotary Hearth Oven
No. 982 is a 1000ºF, electrically-heated rotary hearth oven from The Grieve Corporation, currently used for heat treating machined metal shafts at a customer’s facility. Workspace dimensions measure 24” W x 11” D x 30” H with a 26” dia. hearth constructed from overlapping steel plates with 24 pipes holding pin inserts to support the workpieces. 24 KW installed in Incoloy sheathed tubular heating elements provide power, while a 1000 CFM, 1 HP recirculating blower provides radiant horizontal airflow to the workload. An additional cooling blower is mounted beneath the loading table to cool the parts in the front middle three positions of the hearth.
The hearth is driven by a 1/4 HP motor through a gear reducer with torque limiting device, variable from 0.1 to 0.5 revolutions per hour. A loading table is provided in front of the oven to hold extra pin inserts (shown in photo).
This oven features an aluminized steel exterior and interior, an exhaust hood around the openings in the face of the unit with a 130 CFM exhaust fan, plus an integral oven leg stand. The 8” thick wall insulation comprises 2” of 1900ºF block and 6” of 10 lb/cf density rockwool.
Controls on the No. 982 include a digital indicating temperature controller, manual reset excess temperature controller with separate contactors, recirculating blower airflow safety switch, fused disconnect switch and a 10” circular chart recorder.

500ºF (257ºC) Class 100 Electric Cabinet Oven
No. 971 is an electrically-heated, 500ºF (257ºC) Class 100 cleanroom cabinet oven from Grieve, currently used to sterilize glassware at the customer’s facility. Workspace dimensions measure 36” W x 36” D x 39” H. 20KW are installed in Incoloy sheathed tubular elements to heat the unit, while a 1200 CFM, 1-1/2 HP recirculating blower motor provides horizontal airflow to the workload.
This Grieve cleanroom oven features 4” thick insulated walls throughout and a Type 304, 2B finish stainless steel interior with 1/2” inside radius corners, all seams welded, ground and polished. The stainless steel exterior has a #4 brushed finish. The unit is equipped with front and rear access doors for pass-through to the cleanroom plus an integral wall sealing flange. A red pilot light onboard the oven signals when the opposite door is open. All door hardware is chrome plated.
For Class 100 cleanroom compliance, this cabinet oven has a 12” x 12” x 6” thick HEPA fresh air filter with 2” prefilter and a 30” x 24” x 6” thick stainless steel high temperature HEPA recirculating filter.
Controls on No. 971 include a minihelic pressure gauge and DOP validation port across each set of filters, digital programming temperature controller, manual reset excess temperature controller with separate contactors, recirculating blower airflow safety switch, 10” diameter circular chart temperature recorder, fused disconnect switch and an SCR power controller.
A stainless steel loading truck with six removable pans and a transfer dolly with oven-to-dolly and dolly-to-truck latches are also furnished with this Grieve oven.

750ºF Electric Inert Atmosphere Oven
No. 968 is an electrically-heated, 750ºF inert atmosphere oven from Grieve, currently used for processing glass and stainless steel components for lab and production use at a customer’s facility. Workspace dimensions of this oven measure 24” W x 36” D x 24”H. 12KW installed in Incoloy sheathed tubular heating elements power the unit, while a 400CFM, 1/3HP recirculating blower provides horizontal front-to-rear airflow to the workload.
This Grieve oven features 6” thick insulated walls, an aluminized steel exterior, Type 304, 2B finish stainless steel interior, a door equipped with adjustable positive latching door hardware and adjustable offset hinges, plus an integral leg stand.
Inert atmosphere construction on No. 968 also includes a pressure regulator, flow meter, pressure gauge, inner oven walls sealing directly against a 1/2” thick silicone rubber door seal, air jacket on the inner oven for cooling, blower shaft seal, outlet with pressure relief, interior seams welded gas-tight and all wall penetrations equipped with compression fittings.
A 325CFM blower is onboard to pull air through the air jacket on the inner oven for cooling.
Controls on this inert atmosphere oven include a solenoid to open an outlet for automatic purge, digital programming temperature controller, manual reset excess temperature controller with separate contactors and recirculating blower airflow safety switch.

550ºF Gas-heated Tunnel Oven from Grieve
No. 960 is a gas-heated, 550ºF tunnel oven from Grieve, currently used by the customer for processing various composite resins and fibers. Workspace dimensions of this unit measure 75”W x 156”D x 25”H. 400,000 BTU/HR are installed in a modulating gas burner to heat the unit, while a 12,500 CFM, 10 HP recirculating blower provides vertical downward airflow to the load.
This oven features 4” insulated walls throughout, an aluminized interior and exterior, motor-operated vertical lift door, side doors for workload access/maintenance and integral guide tracks at the workspace entry to support the customer’s wheeled loading fixture for faster start-up of the process.
No. 960 includes all safety equipment required by IRI, FM and National Fire Protection Association Standard 86 for gas-heated equipment, including a 325 CFM, 1/3 HP powered forced exhauster. This tunnel oven also has a digital indicating temperature controller onboard.

500°F Class 100 Cabinet Oven from Grieve
No. 949 is a 500°F, electrically-heated Class 100 cleanroom oven from Grieve, currently used for heating glass vials at the customer’s facility. Workspace dimensions measure 36”W x 36”D x 51”H. A 1500 CFM, 2HP recirculating blower provides horizontal airflow to the workload.
This Grieve cleanroom oven features a Type 304, 2B stainless steel interior with continuously backwelded seams, stainless steel exterior with #4 brushed finish and 4” insulated walls throughout the unit.
A 12” x 12” x 6” thick HEPA fresh air filter with 2” prefilter, a 12” x 12” x 6” thick stainless steel high temperature HEPA filter on the exhaust outlet and two (2) 24” x 30” x 6” thick stainless steel high temperature HEPA recirculating air filters are also included.
No. 949 has a minihelic pressure gauge and DOP validation port across the recirculating blower air filter bank, plus a recording and programming temperature recorder is also onboard the unit.

500°F Electric Universal Oven
No. 935 is an electrically-heated, 500°F universal oven from Grieve, currently used for curing rubber parts at a customer facility. Workspace dimensions measure 48”W x 48” D x 36” H. 12KW installed in Nichrome wire heating elements provide the power to the oven, while a 600 CFM, 1/2 HP recirculating blower provides a universal front-to-rear airflow pattern.
This Grieve oven features an aluminized steel exterior, Type 430 stainless steel interior and 4” insulated walls throughout. An integral leg stand and swivel casters with swivel locks and wheel brakes are provided to make the unit completely portable.
No. 935 includes all the safety equipment onboard for handling flammable solvents, including explosion venting door hardware and a 325 CFM powered forced exhauster for proper ventilation. This Grieve universal oven also features a 10” diameter circular chart recorder and SCR power controller.

2000°F Gas-heated Box Furnace
No. 939 is a 2000°F gas-heated box furnace from Grieve, currently used for preheating metals prior to forging. Workspace dimensions measure 72”Wx36”Dx48”H. 700,000 BTU, installed in two modulating natural gas burners with a floor-mounted combustion air blower, heat the unit.
This Grieve furnace features 7” insulated walls made with 5” of 2300°F ceramic fiber and 2” of 1700°F ceramic fiber. The 7” floor comprises 4-1/2” of 2300°F firebrick and 2-1/2” of 1900°F block insulation. A firebrick plate hearth is supported by firebrick piers. The unit has a manually-operated vertical lift door.
No. 939 also includes a digital indicating temperature controller, manual reset excess temperature controller with separate contactors and a fused disconnect switch.

750°F Electric Cabinet Oven from Grieve
No. 944 is a 750°F electrically-heated cabinet oven from Grieve, currently used for sintering operations at a customer’s facility. Workspace dimensions measure
44”W x 30”D x 60”H. 30kW installed in Incoloy-sheathed tubular heating elements heat the oven, while a 2000 CFM, 2 HP recirculating blower provides a horizontal airflow to the workload.
The Grieve cabinet oven features 6” insulated walls, aluminized steel exterior, Type 430 stainless steel interior and four 20”W x 28”H independent doors for easy access to the workspace. Eight removable loading pans are provided for each door compartment (32 pans total).
No. 944 has a digital indicating temperature controller, manual reset excess temperature controller with separate contactors and 10” diameter circular chart recorder onboard. In addition, four timers, each with a pilot light and door interlock, are included to individually time the heating process in each compartment.

1000°F Electric Walk-in Oven from Grieve
No. 946 is a 1000°F, electrically-heated vertical airflow walk-in oven from Grieve, currently used for curing coatings on titanium screens. Workspace dimensions measure 72”W x 156”D x 96”H. 360kW installed in Incoloy-sheathed tubular heating elements provide the power, while a 24,500 CFM, 20 HP recirculating blower provides a vertical downward airflow to the workload.
This Grieve oven features 8” insulated walls, Type 304L, 2B finish stainless steel interior, stainless steel exterior with #4 brushed finish and 6” insulated floor with integral truck wheel guide tracks for easy loading and unloading.
No. 946 has double doors, front and rear, each with inner and outer door gaskets. The inner gasket seals against the door plug, while the outer gasket seals directly against the front of the oven.
A removable top-mounted heat chamber (shown removed in photo) is also provided.
Safety equipment is onboard for handling flammable solvents, including explosion-venting door hardware.

350°F Gas-heated Walk-in Oven from Grieve
No. 950 is a 350°F gas-heated walk-in oven from Grieve, currently used for bonding composite materials inside molds. Workspace dimensions of this oven measure 10’W x 20’D x 8’H. 700,000 BTU/HR installed in a modulating natural gas burner provide heat, while a 24,500 CFM, 20-HP recirculating blower provides a combination airflow to the workload.
The Grieve walk-in oven (shown here split into three sections for shipping) features 4” insulated walls, aluminized steel interior and exterior, heavy-duty double doors and a 1/4” steel plate floor.
All safety devices required by IRI, FM and NFPA Standard 86 for gas-heated equipment are onboard No. 950, including a 6500 CFM powered forced exhauster. Also included here are a recording and programming temperature controller, plus motorized dampers on the air intake and exhaust for accelerated cooling.
