2000°F Gas-Fired, Heavy-Duty Furnace

No. 1042 is a 2000°F (1093°C), gas-fired heavy-duty furnace from Grieve, currently used for heat treating at the customer’s facility. Workspace dimensions of this furnace measure 30″ W x 60″ D x 30″ H.  750,000 BTU/HR are installed in four modulating natural gas burners with a floor mounted combustion air blower. Burners fire below hearth, with 9″ thick insulated walls comprising 5″ thick 2300°F ceramic fiber, 4″ 1900°F block insulation and 8 1/2″ floor insulation made from 4-1/2″ of 2300°F firebrick and 4” of 1900°F block insulation.

This Grieve furnace has two lanes of roller rails supported by firebrick piers and an air-operated platform with roller rails to bridge from loading table to workspace. Features include a 1/4” plate steel exterior reinforced with structural steel, 1/2″ steel faceplate at doorway and an air-operated vertical lift door.

Other features include safety equipment required by IRI, FM and National Fire Protection Association Standard 86 for gas-heated equipment plus a free-standing 390 CFM high-pressure combustion blower.

Controls on the No. 1042 include a digital indicating temperature controller and manual reset excess temperature controller with separate contactors.

550°F Belt Conveyor Oven from Grieve

 

No 866 Grieve Belt Conveyor OvenNo. 866 is a 550° (288°C) belt conveyor oven from Grieve, currently used for heat treating coiled spring steel at the customer’s facility. Workspace dimensions of this oven measure 18” W x 20’ D x 15” H. 60 KW are installed in Nichrome wire heating elements to heat the oven, while a 4200 CFM, 3 HP recirculating blower provides vertical downward airflow to the workload.

The oven travel comprises an 1-1/2’ long open belt loading zone, 20’ long insulated heat zone with recirculated airflow, 1’ long open zone, plus a 12’ long cooling zone and an 1-1/2’ long open unloading zone.

This Grieve belt conveyor oven features 4” insulated walls, aluminized steel exterior and stainless steel interior. Two 12” diameter tubeaxial fans, each driven by a ½ HP motor, push/pull air through cooling zone and a 12” wide, ½” x ½” high carbon steel flat wire conveyor belt with 1/3 HP motor drive, variable from 16 to 44 inches per minute, are also onboard the oven.

Controls on the No. 866 include a 10” diameter circular chart recording temperature controller and a manual reset excess temperature controller.

850ºF Heat Treating Belt Conveyor Oven from Grieve

867 for Heat Treating Metal Springs | #GrieveCorpNo. 867 is an 850ºF (454ºC), gas-heated belt conveyor oven from Grieve, currently used for production heat treating of metal springs at the customer’s facility. Workspace dimensions of this oven measure 36” W x 18’ D x 15” H. 800,000 BTU/HR are installed in a natural gas burner to heat the oven chamber, while a 12,500 CFM, 10-HP stainless steel recirculating blower provides vertical downward airflow to the workload.

The oven travel comprises a 3’ long open belt loading zone, 18’ long insulated heat zone with recirculated airflow, 3’ long open belt unloading zone and a 30” wide, Type 304 stainless steel woven wire conveyor belt with 3” high flex plate edges, driven by a ½-HP motor v-belt drive, variable from 1-19 IPM.

This Grieve belt conveyor oven features 7” thick insulated walls, aluminized steel exterior and interior, exhaust hoods over each end equipped with a 12” diameter tubeaxial fan, driven by a ½-HP motor, plus all safety equipment required by IRI, FM and NFPA Standard 86 for gas-heated equipment, including a 650 CFM, ½-HP powered forced exhauster.

Controls on No. 867 include a digital indicating temperature controller and 10” diameter circular chart recorder.

1000°F Electric High Temperature Universal Oven for Cleaning and Heat Treating

818 Grieve (2014_02_19 02_56_07 UTC)Grieve Corporation introduces No. 818, a 1000°F high-temperature universal oven, currently in use for cleaning and heat treating fuel nozzles at a customer’s facility.

Workspace dimensions inside this unit measure 24” wide x 36” deep x 24” high.  24kW power is installed in Incoloy sheathed tubular heating elements.  A 1000 CFM, 3/4 HP recirculating blower provides a front-to-back horizontal “universal” airflow to completely surround the workload.

This Grieve oven features 8” thick insulated walls, an aluminized steel interior and exterior, plus inner and outer door gaskets.  The inner gasket seals directly against the door plug, while the other gasket seals directly against the front face of the oven for optimum seal integrity.  The unit accommodates up to seven shelves on 3” centers.

Standard equipment includes a digital indicating temperature controller, manual reset excess temperature controller with separate heating element control contactors, a recirculating blower airflow safety switch and a UL Listed control panel, top-mounted to minimize floor space requirements.

All standard universal ovens by Grieve meet the requirements of National Fire Protection Association Standard 86, Industrial Risk Insurers, Factory Mutual and OSHA Standards.

This unit was entirely designed, engineered, built and full tested by Grieve.

Special Vertical Airflow Cabinet Oven for Heat Treating

Grieve No. 814No. 814 is a 500ºF (260ºC), electrically-heated cabinet oven from Grieve, currently used for various plastic and metal part heat treating operations at the customer’s facility.  Workspace dimensions of this oven measure 22” W x 21” D x 85” H.  18 kW are installed in Nichrome wire  tubular elements to heat the oven chamber, while a 750 CFM, 3/4-HP recirculating blower provides a vertical downward airflow to the workload.

This Grieve cabinet oven features 4” insulated walls, aluminized steel exterior and interior, three integral metal shelves, plus all safety equipment required by NFPA Standard 86 for handling flammable solvents, including a powered forced exhauster, airflow safety switch and purge timer.

2000°F Gas-fired Pallet Furnace

925 GrieveNo. 925 is a gas-heated, 2000°F pallet furnace, currently used for heat treating.  Workspace dimensions measure 30”W x 48”D x 36”H.  700,000 BTU/HR are installed in two modulating natural gas burners with a floor-mounted combustion air blower.  This unit also includes a 325 CFM intake pressurizing blower, with motorized dampers on the intake and exhaust for accelerated cooling.

This Grieve pallet furnace is provided with 7” thick insulated walls, comprising 5” of 2300°F ceramic fiber and 2” of 1700°F ceramic fiber.  The workload rests on a removable pallet with 7” thick insulation, comprising 4-1/2” thick 2300°F firebrick and 2-1/2” thick 2300°F firebrick.

Built to JIC/NEMA 12 electrical standards, No. 925 includes all safety equipment required by IRI, FM and NFPA Standard 86 for gas-heated equipment.  In addition, a 10” diameter circular chart recorder, digital programming temperature controller and recirculating blower airflow safety switch.
